Rooted in the land. Guided by tradition. Honoring the future

From the heart of the Lakota nation

Wozani is an Oglala Lakota family-owned business rooted in the Badlands of South Dakota. Our connection to the land and traditional medicines has guided us for generations. For us, the Earth is alive, and this belief shapes everything we do.

As a family, we—Shilo and Shawna Clifford—have learned from elders and medicine people, witnessing firsthand how traditional remedies restore balance and well-being. Wozani, meaning “the pursuit of good health,” reflects our commitment to honoring Lakota traditions while supporting mind, body, and spirit.

Every remedy we craft carries the wisdom of our ancestors, using plants like sage, cedar, and yucca root to ease pain, restore health, and promote balance. Through Wozani, we share the healing power of these medicines while also giving back—honoring both the land and the generations to come.

When you choose Wozani, you’re embracing a philosophy rooted in respect, connection, and wellness. We’re grateful to share this journey with you. Wopilathank you.

Anpo Wicahpi - The Morning Star

In Lakota culture, the Morning Star (Anpo Wicahpi) marks the beginning of a new day—a symbol of renewal, hope, and the prayer for good health. This 8-pointed star, often called the Sioux Star, has been woven into our traditions for generations—seen in artwork, regalia, star quilts, and the inipi (sweat lodge).

At Wozani, the Morning Star represents our commitment to renewal and well-being. It reminds us that each new day is an opportunity for healing, resilience, and honoring our Lakota traditions.

Tokata - The Future

Tokata Igluwinyeya Po means “Prepare for the future.” Guided by this belief, we dedicate part of our profits to replanting traditional medicines, ensuring future generations have access to these healing plants.

By promoting sustainability, we help nurture the land that sustains us all. Together, we are working toward a healthier Earth, thriving traditions, and a bright future for our children. Wopila—thank you for supporting this vision.
